Hi
thanks for the reply
but it didn´t help :-(

ok here is what i am doing:

eiffel at xxx:~/eggdrop1.6.17 > ./configure
--with-tcllib=/opt/lib/libtcl.so
--with-tclinc=/opt/include/tcl.h

This is Eggdrop's GNU configure script.
It's going to run a bunch of tests to hopefully make
your compile
work without much twiddling.

checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name...
a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... yes
......
checking for TclpFinalizeThreadData in -ltcl... yes

config.status: creating src/mod/Makefile
config.status: creating config.h

If you experiance any problems compiling Eggdrop,
please read the
compile guide, found in doc/COMPILE-GUIDE.

Type 'make config' to configure the modules, or type
'make iconfig'
to interactively choose which modules to compile.

OK
next step

eiffel at xxx:~/eggdrop1.6.17 > make config
Detecting modules...................... done.

Building ./src/mod/Makefile... done.

You can now compile the bot, using "make".

OK
next step

eiffel at xxx:~/eggdrop1.6.17 > make
make[1]: Entering directory
`/home/eiffel/eggdrop1.6.17/src'
This may take a while. Go get some runts.

gcc -pipe -g -O2 -Wall -I.. -I.. -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c
bg.c
gcc -pipe -g -O2 -Wall -I.. -I.. -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c
botcmd.c
.....
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/home/eiffel/eggdrop1.6.17/src/compat'

---------- Yeah! That's the compiling, now the
linking! ----------

Linking eggdrop (standard build).

gcc -pipe -o ../eggdrop bg.o botcmd.o botmsg.o
botnet.o chanprog.o cmds.o dcc.o dccutil.o dns.o
flags.o language.o match.o main.o mem.o misc.o
misc_file.o modules.o net.o rfc1459.o tcl.o tcldcc.o
tclhash.o tclmisc.o tcluser.o userent.o userrec.o
users.o -L/opt/lib -ltcl -lm -lpthread -ldl -lnsl
md5/md5c.o compat/*.o `cat mod/mod.xlibs`
touch ../eggdrop

Successful compile: eggdrop

make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/eiffel/eggdrop1.6.17/src'
make[1]: Entering directory
`/home/eiffel/eggdrop1.6.17/src/mod'

All modules compiled.
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/eiffel/eggdrop1.6.17/src/mod'

Test run of ./eggdrop -v:
[14:57] LANG: No lang files found for section core.
Eggdrop v1.6.17 (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2004
Eggheads

Eggdrop successfully compiled:
-rwx------ 1 eiffel eiffel 2014653 Aug 15
16:57 eggdrop

Modules successfully compiled:
ls: *.so: No such file or directory
make: *** [modules] Error 1

NOT OK i guess
what went wrong ???
anyway i did the next step you mentioned

eiffel at xxx:~/eggdrop1.6.17 > make install

[15:03] LANG: No lang files found for section core.
Eggdrop v1.6.17 (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2004
Eggheads

Installing in directory: '/home/eiffel/eggdrop'.

Creating directory '/home/eiffel/eggdrop'.
Copying new 'eggdrop' executable and creating symlink.
Creating 'logs' subdirectory.
.....
Copying scripts.
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/eiffel/eggdrop1.6.17/scripts'

Installation completed.

You MUST ensure that you edit/verify your
configuration file.
An example configuration file, eggdrop.conf, is
distributed with Eggdrop.

Remember to change directory to /home/eiffel/eggdrop
before you proceed.

Again the problem with the language files
but they are there don´t know why eggdrop can´t find
them :-(

eiffel at xxx:~/eggdrop > ./eggdrop -m my.conf
[15:12] LANG: No lang files found for section core.

Eggdrop v1.6.17 (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2004
Eggheads
[15:12] --- Loading eggdrop v1.6.17 (Mon Aug 15 2005)
[15:12] * MSG534

i think i have done everythink as i should
somehow the linking isn´t working ?!?
