try to undefine CFLAGS before running make i.e. by:
unset CFLAGS

if this doesn't help look for make configuration file, I don't know
where it's on your machine (on mine it's in /etc/make.conf) and
comment out line with CFLAGS.

Don't you have problems with compiling other software?

PS Do everything on the start if you have directory with eggdrop that
you tried to compile bot, clean it up by writing: make distclean, or
even better erase directory and extract new from archive.
